Two-Word Message From Caitlin Clark Following Her First Fever Game

Although it was a preseason game, Caitlin Clark’s first WNBA game is now history, but she wants everyone to know about her “new job” with the Indiana Fever.

Two days after making her public debut on May 3, Clark posted on Instagram on May 5 with the words “new job” along with a heart, star, and dizzy emoji. In the Fever’s 79-76 preseason loss to the Dallas Wings, she scored 21 points, a performance that garnered national notice.

The atmosphere,” Clark remarked to reporters when asked about her favorite memory of the game on May 3. “I also have very vivid memories of my very first collegiate game. Playing in the WNBA has always been a dream of mine, so this is a major turning point for me.

After Clark had an incredible collegiate career at Iowa, where she became a national celebrity, Indiana selected her as the first overall pick in this year’s draft. Clark set an NCAA scoring record and guided the Hawkeyes to two Final Four visits that drew record crowds.

“My main objective going into this game was to stay true to who I am and play with aggression,” Clark stated. “I assumed that was what I had done. I believe there is plenty to be grateful for.

Clark’s first attempt, an incredibly long three-pointer, was buried. She kept up her excellent play, finishing with three steals, two assists, and three rebounds in her 28 minutes of action.

For my initial picture, I was able to obtain a fairly clean appearance,” Clark remarked. “As a shooter, it’s always satisfying to see your first shot go in.”

Unfortunately, the last one was rejected for Clark and the Fever. Although she missed a last-second three-point attempt that would have knotted the game at the conclusion of regulation, Clark afterwards maintained perspective on the preseason loss.

There are many positive things to learn from it. However, keep in mind that it’s just a preseason game, so don’t be too upset about it, Clark said. “Just watch the movie again, take away what you can from it, and get ready for the next one.

Despite the setback, she also mentioned how much she enjoyed the game overall.

“There really isn’t a better way for women’s basketball to start this year,” stated Clark. “A fantastic game with both teams competing right up to the last second. That will be the year’s main narrative.
