Two years before to his untimely death at the age of fifty, Ewen MacIntosh, the actor who portrayed Keith on The Office, was admitted to the hospital.
Prior to the tragic announcement of his death at the age of 50, the actor had confided in his fans that he was going through a difficult moment. JustRight, Ewen’s management team, announced his passing and stated that he passed away “peacefully” following care at a Littlehampton care facility.
“With great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved comedy genius Ewen MacIntosh,” they wrote in a touching letter. His family would want to thank Willow Green Care Home and everyone who helped him. Soon, family and close friends will be cremated privately, and later in the year, there will be a memorial service to celebrate.”
Ewen spoke to his supporters on X, formerly known as Twitter, in February 2022, saying, “Chums, these are bad days for me. “Remain resilient out there,” accompanied by an image taken from a hospital bed. Ewen appears to have ECG stickers on his chest in the picture, indicating that his heart may have been monitored by medical professionals.
His post received a fast response from fans wishing him well, with one fan writing, “Hold tight big dog.” I’m feeling good. “Hey @ewenmacintosh… you feeling better mate?,” another person wrote. I hope your health is fully restored. Dan.” “Hope you’re okay, buddy, and I’m wishing you a quick recovery.” wrote someone else.
Ewan McIntosh, a different individual with the same name, wrote to offer encouragement: “From one Ewan McIntosh to Ewen Macintosh… I hope everything goes well for you. Is there anything you require or desire?” A very concerned admirer wrote: “Hey Ewen – This is the actual Derek. I am really sad to learn that you are ill. Our mental health can be greatly strained by health issues, which can be extremely concerning. (I was given a Parkinson’s disease diagnosis two years ago.) Do give TJ my number if you want to talk. God be praised.”
When Ewen was cast in the 2022 season of After Life, fans were ecstatic. “OMG, KEITH FROM THE OFFICE SHOWS UP IN AFTER LIFE S3,” exclaimed one ecstatic admirer. “Good to see Keith from The Office making an appearance in season 3 of After Life,” a happy fan commented.
Known for his love of Scotch eggs, Ewen starred in The Office from its premiere in 2011 till its cancellation two years later. Many individuals have been sending heartfelt remarks about him since his passing.
On X, Ricky Gervais expressed his emotions by posting, “Very depressing news. ‘Big Keith’ from The Office, Ewen Macintosh, was a very hilarious and extremely nice man who sadly passed away. A true original. RIP.”
