SO UNFORTUNATE : American Flat Tracker Community mourns The Shocking Death of Sammy Halbert in a Devastating Crash That Claimed…

September 10, 2024, DAYTONA BEACH, FLA. Veteran Mission AFT SuperTwins rider Sammy Halbert will be competing on his own Harley-Davidson XR750 at the eagerly awaited Progressive American Flat Track season finale in Eldon, Missouri, on September 14. This is a historic occasion for the sport since it will be the last time the venerable XR750 participates in the Progressive American Flat Track Grand National Championship.

Halbert is getting back together with his reliable team, which includes his father Willy Halbert doing the wrenchwork and Larry Zumbrun of LZ Racing and Kings Kustoms. Halbert’s Harley-Davidson XR750 will roar back to life after a ten-year hibernation, providing enthusiasts with a once-in-a-lifetime chance to witness this legendary bike in action.

Running the number 69 in memory of his late brother Jethro, Halbert commented, “I’ve had this XR750 tucked away for about a decade and bringing it back for the finale feels like the perfect way to close this chapter.” “The XR750 has played a significant role in my career, so it’s really great to be able to race it with my original team again. We are going to throw everything at it.

Boswell’s Harley-Davidson, a reputable flat track racing partner, is helping this historic endeavor by supporting Halbert and his team as they get ready for the grand finale.

Boswell’s Harley-Davidson owner Bubba Boswell stated, “We feel privileged to be a part of this occasion. Sammy is one of the few riders who can still maximize the performance of one of the most iconic motorcycles in flat track racing history—the XR750. We’re honored to be behind him in what will surely be an emotional and unforgettable race for sports fans.”
