NBA: For the second consecutive season, the Nuggets are about to sweep the Lakers.

The Denver Nuggets have the opportunity to eliminate another step in their path to maybe winning back-to-back titles on Saturday night when they travel to play the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Nuggets defeated the Lakers 112-105 on Thursday to take a 3-0 lead in their best-of-seven Western Conference first-round series. For the third time in the series, Denver was behind at the break and once again demonstrated its ability to come back from behind.

For the Nuggets, Nikola Jokic finished with 24 points, 15 rebounds, and 9 assists, but this is by no means a one-man show. Along with grabbing 15 rebounds, Aaron Gordon scored 29 points. Michael Porter Jr. scored 20 points and pulled down 10 rebounds, while Jamal Murray scored 22 points.

After trailing 53-49 at the half, Denver took a double-digit lead in the third quarter just over seven minutes into play. With 3:02 left, the Nuggets had a 15-point lead. They also stopped the Lakers’ late comeback attempt by making six free throws in the last 1:06.

In the first game, the Nuggets led by three points at the half and won by eleven. In Game 2, a two-point triumph came from a 15-point deficit at the half.

Nuggets head coach Michael Malone said, “Well, I guess that goes with the pregame speech about winning the first quarter and being up at halftime.” “Let’s continue to let them outplay us in the first half and settle into the game.”

The Nuggets defeated their Western Conference rivals for the eleventh time in a row as they maintained their dominance over the Lakers. The fact that a victory on Saturday would give Denver consecutive postseason sweeps over Los Angeles makes that even more remarkable.

“To be honest, I think every game is tougher and tougher,” Jokic stated. I find it quite difficult to play against the same team repeatedly. You kind of grow tired of the play’s or whatever’s style. Thus, all you have to do is trust what we are doing and don’t get bored with success. Because it can (go) wrong really quick.”

The Lakers may start planning for the offseason now, according to history. In 151 attempts, no team in an NBA playoff series best-of-seven has ever come back from a 0–3 disadvantage.

However, NBA players LeBron James and Anthony Davis are more concerned with narrowing their focus for the future than they are with creating history.

James stated, “At this point, it’s one game at a time.” “After losing, you return home. Thus, our approach will be to say, “Let’s get one.” Next, we’ll force a Game 5 and proceed accordingly.

Thus, you will always have believe as long as you are still alive. You keep playing till the wheels come off.

In Game 3, James finished with 26 points and nine assists, while Davis scored 33 points and pulled down 15 rebounds. Adding 22 points was Austin Reaves. However, D’Angelo Russell shot 0 of 7 from the field and 0 of 6 from three-point range in a 24-minute period, failing to score a single point.

Russell’s situation is regrettable, Lakers coach Darvin Ham remarked. “He just couldn’t quite pull off his nice looks. That is all there is to it. It reminded me of Game 1. He was able to recover in Game 2, and I anticipate that he will do the same in Game
