In the hush money trial of Trump, Stormy Daniels provides testimony about the president, the porn star, and the payment.

American porn star Stormy Daniels has detailed to a jury her purported sex encounter with Donald Trump as well as the intimidation she endured from those attempting to keep the tryst a secret.

Daniels has testified for the first time in Trump’s hush money trial about the night she claims she had sex with him. In another stunning moment leading up to this year’s election, she describes how she accepted a request to meet him at his hotel room, spanked him “on the butt” with a rolled-up magazine, and even inquired about his wife Melania.

We don’t even share a room to sleep in,” the woman said Trump stated to her that evening in 2006.

The proof surfaced during the fourth week of the former president’s historic trial, wherein he is charged with fabricating financial records to conceal his purported meeting with Daniels prior to the 2016 election.

Throughout the hearing, Trump—who has denied the affair and the claim that he paid hush money to keep it quiet—behaved more and more agitated. He would sometimes shake his head and pass notes to his attorneys as they got ready for their cross-examination.

Seated in the public gallery, his son Eric, the only family member who has appeared in court to support him thus far, looked expressionless.

Judge Juan Merchan watches Stormy Daniels give testimony in this mock courtroom sketch.

Daniels described to the jury, during prosecutor Susan Hoffman’s interrogation, how she first met Trump at a Lake Tahoe golf tournament when she was a 27-year-old adult film star. At the time, he was 60 years old and at the pinnacle of his career as a reality TV presenter of the popular NBC show The Apprentice.

She says that after agreeing to see Trump for what she believed to be dinner, his security guard informed her that Trump would instead meet her in his suite, where he welcomed her while dressed in satin pajamas.

“Does Hugh Hefner know that you stole his pajamas?” I asked. Daniels remembered saying, alluding to Playboy CEO Hugh Hefner’s signature ensembles.

The 45-year-old Daniels testified in court that she thought Trump was “pompous” and “arrogant” that evening, and she complied with his challenge to spank him with a magazine.

When the prosecution asked where she hit him, she said, “on the butt.”

She once went to the restroom and returned to find him in boxer shorts and a t-shirt on the bed.

She informed the jury that they had “brief” sex and that, despite not having consumed any alcohol, she felt as though she had “blacked out” at one point. This information led Trump’s attorney Todd Blanche to demand a mistrial on the basis that it went too far.

Although many of the specifics of Daniel’s scandalous narrative have previously been revealed to the public through TV appearances, books, and documentaries, this was the first time the 12-member jury that will decide Trump’s fate had access to them.

But before she spoke, Trump’s legal team requested that Judge Juan Merchan restrict graphic details of the sex encounter, such as facts pertaining to “genitalia,” on the grounds that they might be overly discriminatory.

Merchan granted that motion and voiced his displeasure with the prosecution for allowing Daniels to disclose embarrassing information that teetered on the verge of his order, like whether Trump was condom-wearing or their sexual orientation.

Blanche said in her request for a mistrial that the addition of these data was done so to “inflame” the jury and humiliate the former president.

The prosecution finally got down to the main focus of the case, which is not whether the two had an affair but rather if Trump paid hush money fraudulently to prevent his campaign from collapsing, just before the court recessed for lunch.

On election eve 2016, Trump’s attorney and fixer Michael Cohen paid Daniels US$130,000 to hush her allegation. After then, Trump paid Cohen back, but it is alleged that he fabricated financial records to pass off the money as a retainer for legal services.
