AMA Pro Nationals held across the country, club races in Texas, and most recently international events such as the Phillip Island Classic, an iconic event held at the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit in Australia, comprised Lance’s forty-year road racing career.

From 1985 to 1991, he participated on the AMA Pro Superbike class. on 1986, he finished third at Sears Point Raceway (now known as Sonoma Raceway) on a Kosar Racing Yamaha FZ750, behind Fred Merkel and Bubba Shobert. He also placed fourth in the Daytona 200 of 1989. A Suzuki dealership in Fort Stockton, Texas, was also owned by him.
