The drama surrounding CeeDee Lamb’s contract adds to the awful Cowboys offseason.

The Dallas Cowboys’ premier wide receiver is set to get involved in a contract issue that could be problematic.

The Dallas Cowboys came out of free agency with more questions than answers. Rather than filling the holes on their roster and upgrading their personnel, the Cowboys saw a number of key starters leave this offseason, creating a ton of uncertainty about the near future of the team. One of the main aspects of this uncertainty is regarding the Cowboys stars who are in need of contract extensions. Dak Prescott, Micah Parsons, and CeeDee Lamb are all up for extensions and Jerry Jones hasn’t done anything to address it so far this offseason.

The most recent information regarding Lamb suggests that the Cowboys may be in a difficult scenario. The great wide receiver is probably going to be a holdout, according to Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News.

The Cowboys will begin their optional spring training on April 15. Lamb allegedly won’t report to the team unless he gets a contract extension, which would undoubtedly make him one of the highest-paid wide receivers in NFL history.

It is not required to participate in team activities until the June minicamp. If they are on their rookie contract’s fifth-year option, a lot of stars tend to hold out. Should this issue remain unresolved by June, the Cowboys may face more serious issues. A prolonged length of absence from practice could affect Lamb’s effectiveness early in the following season and the cohesiveness of the team.

After experiencing one of the most dismal offseasons in recent memory, Dallas cannot afford that. Last season, Lamb finished as one of the league’s top three wide receivers with 135 receptions, 1,749 yards, and 12 touchdowns. There’s no denying his rapport and connection with Prescott.

The Cowboys would be foolish to let protracted contract negotiations destroy that relationship.

The Cowboys are still favored to win the Super Bowl the following season despite their terrible offseason. They trail behind the 49ers, Chiefs, and Ravens with +1300 odds on FanDuel Sportsbook. Visit that website right now to participate in the action, and don’t forget to earn your sign-up bonus.
