DONE DEAL: Phillies GM Rob Thomson Announces Signing Deal of Top prospect Aidan Miller as …..

Not only are the Philadelphia Phillies having trouble in the major leagues, but their best prospect in the lower leagues is also having trouble. MLB Pipeline ranks Aidan Miller as the No. 2 prospect in the farm system and No. 27 overall in all of baseball. Earlier in the season, the infielder was promoted to High-A Jersey Shore from Single-A Clearwater.

Top prospect Aidan Miller of the Phillies is still a puzzle. After 39 games, High-A Miller slashed.275/.401/.483 with an.884 OPS, five home runs, 16 doubles, 26 RBI, and ten stolen bases. He was off to a strong start at Clearwater. Miller was sent to Jersey Shore by the Phillies in June, along with George Klassen, a right-hand pitcher who was later part of the trade that sent Carlos Estévez to the team from the Los Angeles Angels.

Miller hasn’t had an easy transition to High-A. The twenty-year-old is cutting. In 34 games since his promotion, he has batted 191/.312/.313 with a.625 OPS, two home runs, six doubles, 15 RBI, and seven stolen bases. Clearly, the numbers are declining.

Following his high school career, Miller was taken by the Phillies in the first round of the 2023 MLB Draft. He plays third base and shortstop and is a right-handed hitter. Miller is a gifted player in every aspect. In addition to having raw power, working the count, limiting strikeouts, and hitting for contact, he also possesses a decent left-handed arm. He is the ideal player that any team could ask for.

Miller was chosen for the 2024 All-Star Futures Game along with Justin Crawford, the No. 3 prospect for the Phillies, despite his recent struggles. In his brief professional career, Miller’s first All-Star selection came from this team.

Miller is highly valued by the Phillies, as they ought to be. He is expected to be a long-term regular in the Phillies lineup. Miller has a lot of time to learn as he climbs the organizational ladder because he is still a very young person. With Bryce Harper, Bryson Stott, Trea Turner, and Alec Bohm in the infield, the Phillies are not in a rush to move him up the ladder.
