Coach: Martin St. Louis says goodbye as he confirmed this we be he last season at Montreal Canadiens due to……

For the foreseeable future, the Montreal Canadiens have almost every component in place. While some people think the rebuild is complete, others think that one more season of tanking would provide the missing parts. The squad just finished its third straight season in the bottom five in the league. Although the team making the playoffs this year is a huge ask, it is not totally impossible. But for this to come to pass, a lot of things must occur as planned. The following three events must occur in order for the Montreal Canadiens to qualify for the postseason in 2024–25.

Three Elements of the Canadiens’ Breakout Season and Path to the Playoffs

To make the playoffs, the Canadiens need three things.
Season of Kirby Dach Breakout
Kirby Dach’s career has been marred by injuries thus far. He only participated in two games all season long, and this past season was no different. Before the injury, the forward was primed for a breakthrough season. Dach’s ability to maintain his health and his ability to perform after such a long hiatus are both quite uncertain.

Dach was always at the rink and his teammates even when he wasn’t skating. The youthful forward was anxious to return to action and demonstrate his superior skill level, which earned him a third-round selection in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft.
