Caitlin Clark Should Hear This About Professional Basketball, Says Brittney Griner

Caitlin Clark is being cautioned by WNBA great Brittney Griner about the distinctions between playing collegiate and professional basketball. “It’s different, coming from college to the pros,” Griner said in an interview with People on May 8. “I moved from being number one to a little decline in my numbers. You will be facing mature women. They provide for their family in this way. This goes beyond a simple passion for the [game]. Their means of subsistence is this. Regarding the effect the Clark phenomenon has had on the league, however, she spoke positively. Griner’s remarks followed those of her Phoenix Mercury colleague Diana Taurasi, who in an interview with Scott Van Pelt of ESPN SportsCenter stated that “reality is coming.”
