Breaking news: VeryDarkMan has been released from police custody after spending nine days in detention.

Renowned Nigerian activist and influential figure on social media, VeryDarkMan, has been released from police custody after spending nine days behind bars.

The well-known activist regained his freedom late today, on Easter Sunday.

His release was facilitated by his legal team consisting of Sowore, Kefiano, and Deji Adeyanju.

Recall that VeryDarkMan was detained by the police on March 22, 2024, over allegations of cyberbullying actress Tonto Dikeh.

@officialstelladimokokorkus, an Instagram blogger, initially reported the news, later confirmed by Nollywood actress Doris Ogala, who praised Tonto Dikeh for her actions.

Doris Ogala also took to social media to express her wishes for VeryDarkMan’s stay in KiriKiri prison and commended Tonto Dikeh for taking action against the critic.

According to @officialstelladimokokorkus:

“ACTRESS TONTO DIKEH ARRESTS SOCIAL MEDIA CRITIC VERY DARK MAN FOR ALLEGED CYBERBULLYING AND THREAT TO LIFE FROM POSTING THAT SHE CO-RUNS TOXIC BLOG THAT ATTACKS PEOPLE.

A prominent social media critic is currently incarcerated in Abuja. He was detained for allegedly cyberbullying actress Tonto Dikeh and accusing her of co-owning the toxic blog gistlov****, which has led to threats on her life from individuals seeking the blog’s owner.”
