The 76ers are taking the offer “seriously,” as the state of New Jersey is trying once more to persuade them to move across the Ben Franklin Bridge and settle in Camden.
The Sixers’ owners, Harris Blitzer Sports Entertainment, received a second proposal from the New Jersey Economic Development Authority demonstrating their commitment to “bringing the 76ers to Camden.”
The proposed arena would be constructed north of the Ben Franklin Bridge, close to the Delaware River, on the site of the former Riverfront State Prison.
According to the state, the project will be a “mixed-use development.”
