ESPN NASCAR Top Driver Found  Due to Suspected Accident: A Tragic Loss for…..

According to SPN, two NASCAR drivers—Adam Petty and Kenny Irwin, Jr.—died on the same track’s turn for the same reason. The throttle for both drivers became locked, resulting in a deadly collision. Irwin passed away less than a month after Petty’s May 2000 crash.

Even though those events were sad, they had one beneficial, long-lasting effect. These and other fatalities prompted NASCAR to introduce a new safety feature called the “kill switch.”
