The 2024 regular season began with a 22-10 victory by the Los Angeles Chargers over the Las Vegas Raiders. Nevertheless, the most memorable aspect of the intense divisional clash was a brawl that started late in the fourth quarter. The Raiders defense stuffed Chargers running back Gus Edwards when he tried to go for a two-point conversion with 3:40 remaining in regulation. Raiders cornerback Jack Jones had to intervene to protect his colleague defensive back when Chargers receiver Josh Palmer attempted to block Raiders safety Marcus Epps, causing the play to spill into the back of the end zone. After then, there were more altercations until the officiating team intervened. Following its examination of the video, the NFL intervened on Saturday and punished those responsible.
